What is a "private tour"?

A private tour is a tour organized for your party only: you are the only participant in the tour and the guide is dedicated to your party. This type of tour offers a few advantages:
– It is completely tailored to your pace, needs and interests
– It is organized around your schedule
– You do not have to wait for other participants

Our guides are passionate local experts in fields like art history, architecture and history. Most of them are licensed guides, which means that they hold a university diploma (license, master or PhD) in art history or history and that they are fluent in English.

Yes, all our guides are fluent in English.

We follow a very strict recruitment process including:
– Regular interview
– Screening of the reference letters and recommendations
– Sample tours: we try ourselves our guides on a selection of tours to check that they meet our quality criterias in guiding (in terms of knowledge, passion, level of English etc).
On top of all that, we continuously ask for our clients’ feedback to help our guides improve the quality of their guiding.

We have several tours specifically designed for families with children from 6 to 12y old like the Louvre Treasure Hunt or the Paris Overview Treasure Hunt. The rest of our tours, however, are designed for adults or teenagers with an interest for history and arts. There is no minimum age requirement. Of course, it depends on the personality and interest level of your children.

Our private guided tours last anywhere from 2 to 12 hours, depending on the type of visit (district, museum, tour outside of Paris or monument etc).

Yes, of course! We do run private tours for solo travellers, this is no problem.

Yes, our website allows you to book online and pay for your private tour. Please note, however, that same-day or next-day reservations should be done per phone (+33 6 99 70 66 40 or +33 7 77 94 14 01) or email at hello@uniqueprivatetours.com, as we will first need to check the availability of our guides.

Yes for all the driving tours, but our standard rates include a pick-up and drop-off from/to an hotel or apartment inside Paris City. If you’d like a pick-up or a drop off from the suburb of Paris or further away, please contact us and we will be pleased to provide you with a personalized quote. no for the walking tours, as this would increase the cost considerably, and Paris is well equipped with public transportation and taxis to reach the main touristic sites.

Our licensed guides all have a master of history of art and speak at least 2 languages fluently. They have been selected not only because of the knowledge and experience they bring, but thanks to their ability to adapt to different publics: children, art lovers, novices, seniors, multi-generation families, corporate groups. Our guides all have a desire to share their knowledge and passion for Paris, the art and the History.

We only use Mercedes or Volkswagen vehicles: Mercedes minivans, Volkswagen Caravelle as well as Mercedes E Class. Mercedes S class on demand and Mercedes Sprinter on demand for larger party. All our vehicles are in best conditions, A/C with leather seats. For the Paris Essentials tour, we might use another type of minivan.

Entrance tickets are included in the tours where it is mentionned and are skip the line tickets.
Thanks to the pre-arranged entrance tickets, you will skip the long waiting lines with your guide and enter quickly in the museum or monument.
No, unfortunately, we cannot hold option for our private tours.
If you do not find a specific tour on our website, please do not hesitate to send us a request as there is a very high chance we can arrange this tour for you.
Of course we also offer customized tours.
Do not hesitate to contact us regarding illumination tour, Champagne tour, Burgundy tour, Rodin museum, Latin Quarter district, exclusive wine and cheese tasting, personal shopping tour and many more.
We also do offer any transfers, from/to the airport or within the city limits.
For the private walking tours of Paris districts, you can take as many pictures as you like. In the Louvre and Orsay museums, you are not allowed to use flash. In churches like the Sacred-Heart Basilica, it is forbidden to use any camera inside.

Yes, we do provide a 10 EUR off per tour multiple booking discount if you book 3 tours or more with us (please note that this discount will only apply if you book at least 3 tours, not transfers (transfers are not considered as tours).
Yes, our online secured bank payment platform accepts Visa and Mastercard. Our payment options are flexible, and designed to make your checkout as easy as possible. We generally ask you to pay upfront for the tour in full by credit card.
Unfortunately not. In order to sign up for any of our private guided tours, we require a full upfront payment by credit card through our website.
Unique Paris Private Tours provides a full refund, excluding the cost of entrance tickets, for cancelled reservations up to 7 days before the tour date. We regret that we cannot offer refunds for tours cancelled within a week of the scheduled appointment.
Our private walking tours go ahead as planned, rain or shine (our guides will look for ways to keep you comfy and mostly out of the rain).
If you are running late for your private tour, please do contact your guide or our offices to let us know. Your Unique Paris guide will wait for you for up to 30 minutes at the arranged meeting point. Please note that, if you arrive late at the meeting point, your private tour may be shortened to finish at the original scheduled time.
Yes they do. Tips are much appreciated by our private guides, but are certainly not expected. If your private guide has been excellent, please do not hesitate to give him some tip at the end of the tour.
Please contact us and we will be happy to give you specific recommendations for each museum/monument.
You should instantly receive an email with a link to download your confirmation with all the details of your private tour: guide contact details, meeting point, maps etc. If there is any change in the meeting point or guide contact details, we will resend you a new updated confirmation per email.
If we are unable to provide a private guided tour that you have requested or if your request is taking longer to fulfill than planned, we will let you know per email as soon as possible.
